Do your corns keep coming back? Tired of having the same painful corn removed every few months?
We now offer Curacorn®, an advanced treatment designed to reduce pressure beneath painful corns and help prevent them from returning so soon!
What is Curacorn?
Curacorn is an innovative, specialised podiatry treatment designed to tackle stubborn, painful corns and calluses from the inside out.
Instead of relying on external fixes like bulky gel sleeves or adhesive padding, Curacorn utilises a medical-grade hyaluronic acid (HA) gel injection. Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally found in the human body. However, the specific gel used in Curacorn is highly viscous and robust - much thicker than the dermal fillers used in facial aesthetics, allowing it to withstand the daily impact of body weight.
During the procedure, a podiatrist numbs the area with a local anesthetic and injects the gel directly between the skin and the underlying bone or joint. This creates an internal cushion that absorbs friction and offloads the exact pressure points that cause corns to form in the first place.
How Effective is it for Returning Corns?
Corns are simply the skin’s defensive reaction to concentrated pressure and friction. By placing a permanent or semi-permanent barrier right under the problem area, Curacorn changes how your foot handles that stress.
Its effectiveness against recurring corns is highly regarded for several reasons:
-
High Success Rate: It has a proven track record of drastically reducing or completely halting the recurrence of stubborn corns.
-
Long-Lasting Relief: A typical treatment cycle (usually 2 to 3 sessions spaced a 2-3 weeks apart) provides relief that commonly lasts anywhere from 6 to 18 months before the body naturally breaks down the gel (although in some cases it has lasted for many years!).
-
Potential Permanent Resolution: Because the internal cushion stimulates natural collagen production and gives the skin a prolonged break from trauma, some patients find their corns disappear permanently.
-
Reduces Clinic Visits: It eliminates the endless cycle of returning to a chiropodist every few weeks to have hard skin painfully cut away (enucleation).
Crucial Rule for Success: The effectiveness of the treatment heavily relies on the first 24 to 48 hours after injection. Patients must strictly avoid weight-bearing or putting pressure on the foot during this window to allow the gel to properly set in place. If you walk on it too soon, the gel can displace, rendering the treatment ineffective.
