GENERAL PODIATRY

General Podiatry

This covers the general nail problems, corns and callus. Scalpels are used to skilfully remove painful hard skin and corns.

It is important to have regular foot health checks, especially if you have a medical condition which puts your feet at risk, such as diabetes. This typically happens due to nerve damage, or neuropathy, in the feet and toes. When the nerves become damaged in your feet, over time you gradually lose the ability to feel. When this happens a simple injury, or a small cut or wound on your foot or toes can go unnoticed. This can quickly become infected and turn into larger and more complicated problems like foot ulcers with associated bone infection (osteomyelitis).
